<< an event can actually happen and still be cooked up. >>

Who really cares?

The liberation of Iraq is huge! These cruelly oppressed Iraqis have been suffering for over 30 years, at the hands of a sadistic, criminally insane leader.

What has happened to the Iraqi people over the past 30+ years, has been a horrible nightmare.

This does not mean anything to an unfeeling, selfish, coldheart like you, so I would expect you to continue posting your meaningless trivia.

This is a great time for freedom and democracy. The extremely difficult work of rebuilding the nation of Iraq has barely started, since the fighting is still ongoing.

Tigerpaw,

"an event can actually happen and still be cooked up"

I would say it was a relatively small crowd of a few hundred at yesterday's statue ceremony. However, I was able to watch a good deal of cable news and there appeared to be dozens of spontaneous on-going celebrations all over the city. There did appear to be a huge celebration in the Kurd area I think in the city of Ebril.

In any case, it's pointless to defend Gustave in this matter because he's claiming all the celebrations are Hollywood made anyway.
