Very interesting.

I don't quite buy the Rice story - why would the US do this now?

The China / North Korea story is good news, if true.

Yiwu,
Nothing surprises me anymore. Saddam probably would be more comfortable in Russia than anywhere in the arab world. After all he does have 7 billion to invest. It is still very strange that the leadership all disappeared Tuesday night. I assumed US had gotten them in the air strike but perhaps Stratfor is on to something. Of course if he is in Russia the stache is off and he is blending in. Something tells me that we will be looking for him along with other mysterious disappearees and folks whose deaths are not widely believed--Elvis anyone.
As for the china/NK stuff that does ring more true and it is a good start. Think the new chinese leadership learned a lesson in transparency with the SARs stuff. And i think this is their way of finally assuming the leadership role in their neighborhood. Mike
