the thing is, all those politicians and boinksters only marginally give a rip about the Japanese economy. They dont work for the economy. They work out of very unenlightened self interest (AKA greed) and to a lesser extent fear (of being exposed for the frauds and cheats they are but also of late night calls from mobsters asking if they know where their children are). And even though the economy has bumbled along, their lifestyles have hardly changed one wit. Things are still very good for them. Why rock the boat. Eat drink and be merry....
