look at a map, lizzie.

israel has some excellent seaports...

israports.org.il

I think we both know that iraq has no interest in providing oil to israel, and since israel is a mere 6 million people and a small geographic area there is little or no incentive for iraq to sell them oil, the amount of $$ is too small

<< I think we both know that iraq has no interest in providing oil to israel, >>

When did you last hear from the new democratically elected Iraqi government on this issue?

I can picture an exchange of services between Iraq and Israel. Perhaps Israel can help Iraq militarily, while Iraq helps Israel with access to oil.

<< If the US pushes that oil pipeline down iraq's throat I will be disgusted. >>

I don't think that the US would be involved. This would be between Israel and the new democratically elected government of Iraq. Iraq is going to have major enemies on two sides, Syria and Iran, with Turkey to the north creating friction because of the Kurds. Iraq could use a strong ally like Israel, and vice versa.

Why would you be so upset by Israel getting better access to oil? Why would you be disgusted?
