<If there is a failure, it must be the Iraqi people who fail>

File this under, "getting your excuses lined up in advance."

So, your position is:
If it's a success, the NeoCons will claim credit.
If it's a failure, it's the Iraqi people's fault.

It won't wash. It's our army that holds the ground, we kicked the existing government out, so the world will hold us responsible. The only way the Iraqis could be held responsible, is if an indigenous uprising had thrown Saddam out, and they were organizing their own government, instead of having foreign soldiers picking their leaders for them.
