Since these statistics are hindside, so not until all the patients "disappered", either by recovery, or by death, no one knows for sure what is the recovery rate, and what is the death rate for SARS. Close to 80% is only the current rate, it could go much higher, or it might go lower. Except the patients who already dead, the rest of them, 16% or so, are still in hospitals, and no one, including you, can sentence them to death yet.
