I doubt it. The attack was very well planned. Adjustments would have been made. Also, there are (or were) many alternative targets and methods of destruction. Bin Laden is an intelligent and very, very capable fighter, and his minions have extremely strong resolve. In the great scheme of things, it is next to impossible to stop every single lunatic on the entire planet who intends to kill himself and as many innocent bystanders as possible. All we can really do is be more vigilant and more prepared.

The 'aftermath' is now. We're all living it. It's one of the things I find most interesting about the current administration's foreign policies.

Al Gore chaired a panel on airline security and their findings would have prevented 9/11. The findings would have cost the airlines so they donated to the Clinton/Gore campaign fund and the suggestions were dropped. Gore got the $$ and we got 9/11.
