According to Chinese doctors, 2nd and 3rd generation SARS is far less deadly than the original carrier. That explains why 100% survival rate in the US

>>On a sad note, my husband just told me that WHO won't coordinate with Taiwan because Beijing opposes it.<<

Not because Beijing opposes it, but because Taiwan is NOT a WHO member. Beijing welcome Taiwan directly contact China, and there are already 3 Taiwanese doctor/scientists went to China yesterday at Beijing's invitation. And WHO today ended the 6-day inspection in Guangdong, and said they think Guangdong model could be followed allover the world, whatever that means.

>>So I take back my three cheers for WHO. Two cheers for WHO, one cheer for the UN, and no cheers for Beijing.<<

whether you cheers for Beijing or not is non-relevant, as long as WHO cheers for China.

>>Taiwanese medicine is very much more advanced than Chinese medicine. I fear that China will suffer more than Taiwan. <<

this is one of the most ridiculous thing I heard. but you are entitled for your own opinion.

RE: In the US, SARS patients are being treated with steroids, ribavarin (anti-viral), but not Chinese traditional medicine. Survival rate so far 100%.

That is good to hear. In HK, patients are treated with the same thing but some still died.
