<<<But he would not need an intercontinental missile to threaten a USA city, all he would have had to do is threaten Saudia Arabia's export facilities and he would have devastated the world economies and made his exports much more valuable.>>>
That clears things up a bit. Now it becomes obvious
This(whatever) IS all about oil and power. Saddam was no friend of the Arabs, he war trying to get control of the oil and the region and rule by power and terror..
Observe the wars, Iran (big oil), Kuwait (big oil)- with Kuwait alone he had near to 45 % of world reserves.
Its equivalent to someone trying to get control of most of the worlds arable farmland, or fresh water supplies.
What is there about, or in, certain people that is so compelling about power and that builds the ego to extremes?
They do not seem to realize that power involves responsibility , and in the case of US Presidents turns the hair grey. There was Kenneth Lay, on a roll so big he created 2400 separate corporations just to support his crooked dealings.
There has been concern expressed about GWB getting too much power but our election system is such that it
will not happen because of his expectations. Eight years max.Guaranteed
Clinton had that, went as far as possible, got the gold medal, and stepped off the podium
Now seems very contented to go on to other things. Of course, he could vote for his wife, if she runs, which would add a few points to the family name..
