Iraq is not Afghanistan in any case, there are problems unique to the country and I wouldn't generalize overly on what to expect. It has a lot of problems, and not ones we can solve by shoveling money at it. I don't know if the place is governable by our standards. Some places aren't. But the only thing that will work in the end is for the Afghans to get on with it, IMO. We are going to shovel too much money into Iraq, but that is another story, and we will be debating it in the months to come.
