Brent Saddler was the CNN reporter interviewing these folks. They are WALKING from N Iraq to S Iraq. They estimate its a weeks worth of walk. They have no food, no water no money. One of them said "as we pass thru villages and towns, the people there will help us".

Don't these deserters have to pass through Tikrit to get back to Baghdad? I don't think that I would be walking towards Tikrit. I guess they will hear the bombing before they get there.

I thought they had been walking more than just today....I did hear it will take them several days to get back to their homes.

also, many of our soldiers have been working very hard, and look as thought they'd appreciate a shower as well. Ollie North commented on that tonight too....He looked tired and said he was dirty...
