reject the argument that all opposition to the war was based upon enlightened moral principles.

"Moral principles" is not the only reason why 80% of Western Europeans rejected this war, it is not even the most important one. You must have heard concerns about legitimizing the preemptive doctrine, and why that is a Very Bad Thing, for example. Or the concerns about the new America, breaking away from the tradition of leading by example, and the resentment of its newfound taste for bullying? Or perhaps the rather significant probability that this invasion will increase terrorism?

These are not "moral principles". These are serious concerns for the future of this planet.
