I won't say NO one, but majority of Chinese thinks this is deliberate. As for why US did it? may be they thought the Chinese embassy was transmitting signals for Yugoslavia TV, or may be they thought Yugoslavia then-president was hiding there. who knows? CIA sometimes could do some very stupid things, unfortunately.

The theory I heard was that Chinese embassy was giving material help to Serbs. I find that a more credible story than us not having a $2 map of the city. If in fact that was the case (China was giving material help to Serbs and we hit them on purpose), will have a renewed admiration fo Clinton.

I for one buy the argument that we deliberately bombed the Chinese embassy for providing intelligence to the Serbs. Well, I guess the argument would be that we didn't actually bomb the Embassy per se, we bombed some people carrying out activities inconsistent with the proper function of an Embassy.
