That statement has more than a passing resemblance to arrogance and an overconfidence in one's military superiority - mistakes that led to the decline of quite a few empires.

Since I have no connection to the military, my "arrogance" is not relevant. However, I believe that it is a statement of fact, rather than arrogance.

I would hope to avoid such a war of religions, if at all possible.


I believe that the war in Iraq is part of a bigger strategy to avoid such a war. Sometimes a show of strength in the beginning can be a favor to your opponent in the bigger picture.

"Arrogant" has got to be to most overused word of the year.
Arrogant can be applied to Saddam or Arafat or terrorists
or France or Russia or Kofi Annan as well.
