Saddam's involvement in the worldwide terror apparatus is amply demonstrated by Salman Pak. The US has declared war on terrorism and its facilitators and has stated a policy of pre-emptively dealing with such threats. Saddam was clearly one of those facilitators at the very least. I have no idea if the regime was directly involved in 9/11 or not but that is not the only line of inquiry. The complicity in terror, providing haven, training and financing for terror organizations (Hamas maintained an office in Baghdad), failure to comply with the 91 accords, failure to comply with subsequent UNSCRs, failure to comply with UNSCR 1441, all lead to an inescapable conclusion that given his location astride the world's oil reserves, Saddam was simply too much a threat to be left in place any longer....
