The bottom line is we have a new class of political entity. Not conservatives, not liberals. We need a new name that reflects the inherent political nature of these people, devoid of principle, people who act only to preserve political viability.

Any ideas for a descriptive name?

Republicans!

David, I hear you. The new left has been taken over by the Clintonesque "do anything, say anything" crowd. Civil disobedience has devolved into in-your-face evangelism. Tolerance has devolved into political correctness. Environmentalism has devolved into a religion. Social equality has devolved into handouts and wealth "redistribution." And equal opportunity has turned into reverse discrimination.

The new left is now as hollow as Clinton's character and resolve. And I know I'll be flamed by Ted for my alleged obsession with Clinton, but there really is no other way to describe it.

Out of all the people I know the person who made a statement most strongly supporting this war and even other wars against despots and thugs around the world is a liberal. She said that she always used to think we spent too much on the military but then suggested that we now increase military spending and hunt down all the people leaders in the world who where as brutal and abusive like Saddam. I explained to her that this was impractical.
