Skeets, I am very glad he is gone. Based on our history (say starting with Afghanistan), I have many doubts about our follow through. I don't object to war out of principal; I was dismayed at the lack of process. But that is because the goal was war all the time, as years of documents, letters, and our first-strike foreign policy all show. It is the reality of the neocons and the rise in fascism that I grieve, because I believe that is to the detriment of all mankind. Seeing the destruction and remaking of an Islamic culture while cutting back on the reparations back home... hard to believe that it's all really being spent that way. Like I've said before, Americans won't give up their rising standard of living easily.

p.s. I will view it as a miracle if things work out swimmingly over the next 10 years, and will welcome that completely. Either way it goes, it will go down in history as BIG.
