If you don't understand that America is very well informed as a country there is nothing I have nothing to offer to convince you.

It is amazing that anyone could be posting to this thread and argue that, isn't it Paul? All of us on this thread, including Jacob, have a mass of information to sort through that the CIA would have died for 30 years ago.

He doesn't like it that "Joe Sixpack" is setting in front of his TV and getting his news during the football halftimes. Tough Toenails. The sixpack guy still knows more about what is going on in the world than all but the most informed people of 50 years ago.

Paul, I find it amazing those who come on the thread and talk about how "Americans know nothing" .... or ... "all they care about is sports and entertainment" ....

Yet, this thread is filled with Americans on both sides of issues that apparently know quite a bit.

I am sure the average person on the Arab street is very informed about world events ....

Yesterday, NPR, the bastion of liberalism, had on a Chinese internet expert discussing China and the internet. I was amazed to find out that China employs 30,000 people in the industry of internet disruption ( my term ).

Their job is to make sure there is no unfettered access to the internet and hence, the truth; shut down access to sites the government disapproves of, find those who run ISPs permitting free and total access .. the list was endless.

30,000 ? Damn, that's a whole small town !!!

Perhaps it's just easier to say Americans are ignorant.
