I know there is no support. I find article after article mentioning that the US has disengaged from security issues on the African continent. The problem I see with doing nothing is that any area can represent a potential security risk (and with imaginations like ours, you'd think we'd realize that). It is short sighted to simply ignore Africa. (imo) I've been saying that for a long time- but the money that is being poured into this war with Iraq, just highlights (for me) the bizarre, fragmentary, and conflicting nature of our foreign policy.
