True that is a well known issue unfortunate many (including on SI) of French origin are denying those facts. The oil for food program was the biggest international scam to sustain the Saddam regime under the auspices of Koffi Annan.

The biggest direct beneficiary aside from the UN were France Germany Russia and many other countries involved in this program.

It will not surprise me if it will be discovered that many perks to UN top dogs including Annan and Blix were actually financed trough sophisticated finance schemes by the Iraqi oil for food program and as such Saddam regime earned the cover up of his WMD oppression programs.

The most startling issue is the fact the the UN refused to deliver a detail accounting of funds to WSJ when requested.

If you see a faded sign by the side of the road that says 15 miles to Saddam's love shack ...
