It's true that Paul's lunatic ranting about how anybody who lacks his devotion to the PNAC program "hates America" isn't exactly new. Personally, I think Paul is a trifle obsessed at this point, posting 40-odd messages a day seems a bit unhealthy.

Good questions, c2. Let me see if I can answer them. Let me know if I don't.

Why make your comment "to the thread" instead of directly to paul? You overestimate the interest people may have in a discussion you might be having with paul. By stating that the comment is "to the thread," you essentially sensationalize something which on closer inspection is picayune.

As you may know, Paul has me on ignore so when I see something in one of his posts that I wish to make some comment about it strikes me as a bit disingenuous to type it to him. The only other option that came to mind was simply to type it to "the thread." Now that you note that it sensationalizes it, I have to admit you may be right. I genuinely didn't mean to do so. Can you think of a better way?

As for whether the point is "picayune", that I think is something that is more in the eye of the beholder. I felt it needed to be made and made it.

Secondly, after looking at paul's comments thanks to your shout, it appears that he did not at all deal with the issues you are commenting upon.

Hmmm, are we talking about the post about anti-Americanism on the thread? I assume that's the one. That's a constant on the thread, the complaint that posts which offer criticisms of the Bush foreign policy are anti-American posts. That's what I took Paul to be saying and what I responded to. If he was not saying that, then I misunderstood him. Do you care to elaborate?
