How do you like Bushies no longer reporting layoff numbers?
And making it legal now to take gifts from lobbyists without reporting them?

If you are talking about 'chain-weighted' economic statistics, they are still being used today (the argument is that they provide a more accurate picture), so if their use is a 'fault'... the fault is continuing.

And, I would argue that the government's decision to pay down debt early - taking advantage of lower interest rates to reduce the debt burden on Americans - is simple fiscal prudence.

It is conservative, responsible economics, the likes of which more should be seen these days....

But, you can't get around the plain fact, that if Levitt/Greenspan/Rubin's push to enact accounting reform and properly expense stock options had succeeded... the bubble would have been headed off before it began.

You can thank Lieberman, Dodd, DeLay, Beaux, Tauzin, Armey and countless corporate lobbyists for defeating the reforms, and allowing the fraud to swell into a disasterous bubble.
