You had better get out of the way of the Avalanche, John. This story has long, long, legs.

At the moment it still illustrates the rabid right's (just couldn't resist typing that--I've been controlling my twitching fingers far too long--but they just took over and said to hell with my better instincts) first priority is not to report or analyze the news but to find some way to beat up on everyone else. As long as it stays confined to those circles it won't mean much.

However, I actually expect it to crawl out and hope it will take the form of a fairly serious examination on the part of all the media with news bureaus in similar circumstances, not just Iraq, of just how they can and should handle such situations.
