DavesM -

So there was a connection between Iraq and Abu Sayyaf and also a connection between Abu Sayyaf and Al Qaeda.

That doesn't demonstrate a connection between Iraq and Al Qaeda.

If I do business with John, and you do business with John, that doesn't mean that I do business with you.

The speech you quoted from Bin Laden also included references to Hussein as an infidel, and yet another statement in a long line about how his government and the other infidel governments of Arab countries would eventually have to be brought down. He was not supporting Hussein so much as using the excuse of our own threats of invading Iraq to rally his troops against us. Basically, we played right into his hands.
