The right may stand on principle and win on this one but they will lose in the court of public opinion.

And that would be just fine. The Dixie Chicks lost in that forum and so on. If the head of the hall of fame takes a lot of flack, then that is fine too. The bottom line is nobody's rights were inhibited in this situation.

Imagine I've invited you to my cookout, and I find out my boss is coming. Assume you have a history of saying things that are divisive and embarrassing, so I ask you not to come. You may think I'm an ass, but you don't have a "right" to be at my cookout.

Robbins is angry at what happened and has launched verbal attacks on the hall of fame guy. That's fine, but the real people he should be angry at are the ones that have established the trend of celebs mouthing off at events like this.
