RE: "If we try to get to the core of your argument..."

The threat to the US is WMD in the hands of terrorists or conventional weapons in their hands. The threat to Israel and its 5M Jews is from the 22 Arab countries with total populations of over 300M which don't have the state of Israel on any of their maps.

The Palestinians will be totally crushed if they continue to believe violence against Israelis is an effective tool. Hopefully, they will learn the lesson of Iraq. Menial labor should not be the future for Palestinians. When their society is run by professionals instead of professional terrorists, they should have a spectrum of labor very similar to the Israelis.

The core of my argument is that 9/11 graphically demonstrated the vulnerability of the US and the Bush administration reacted by placing the perceived interests of the US above any other country, institution, or established modes of conduct in international affairs.

The Israel-Palestinian conflict is just an example of the rest of the world espousing a solution that has no basis in reality, while the US attempts to re-engineer reality to conform to the necessary and sufficient conditions for a just solution.

RE: "It's a brilliant plan and it is working."

Beres thinks that the Israelis were committing national suicide by entering into the Oslo accords. He doesn't believe that Israel would survive a Palestinian state in the West Bank, Gaza, and E. Jerusalem. He contemplates defenses against preemptive, coordinated WMD attacks against Israel by most of its Arab neighbors.
