I wondered about that myself.
What a travesty that looting was. How sad the people did not realize they are destroying their own heritage.

Iraq is no exception for international business, altough maybe still not really the regular ebay customers.
Some are more organized than others.

dereliction forces...oops, I mean "coalition" forces will crack down on the looting very soon. It shouldn't be too difficult now that there's nothing left to loot.

The neocons here will make grandiose pronouncements claiming the dereliction forces have "clamped down" on looters or something equally stupid. They'll act extra indignant toward the looters and say it was only a tiny % of the population. They'll act like they were personally affected by the looting. They'll have, as examples of a completely efficient crackdown, a couple pictures of some people arrested with 2nd hand wicker chairs...the last 2 chairs available for looting...passed over a dozen times by the earlier waves of rampancy conducted by those with a more discriminating taste in patio furniture, hospital equipment, antiquities, merchandise from all the shops and stores, administrative supplies and equipment, telecommunications equipment, etc, etc.
