Canadian Press Canadian Alliance Leader Stephen Harper's father has died at age 75, the leader's office announced Sunday. Joseph Harper, who had been treated for heart problems recently, died Saturday night in Calgary, said Harper spokeswoman Carolyn Stewart Olsen. Harper cancelled his appearance at a party dinner in Victoria on Saturday night where he was to have been the keynote speaker and flew to Calgary to be at his father's bedside. He has cancelled all public appearances scheduled for this week, Olsen added. ______________ Condolences to Steve, Grant and Rob.
