Asner asserted no such thing. What he did say is that he was not in favor of the war.

Well, he did say he was not in favor of the war, but most certainly did assert that the Iraqi people were not happy having been freed. His remarks were words to the effect that "how happy can they be with the civil disobedience that has come with it" -- which simply reflects a fundamental ignorance on his part that the civil unrest is part of the process.
