Keep in mind that paranoia is an evolutionary adaptation which has been honed to a fine edge in We the Survivors. We the Survivors can detect a threat at a billion light years and 2 picowatts of power. Regarding North Korea, a multilateral discussion is the best way to handle it. Throw the UN up against the Korean wall and see if it sticks. If it doesn't, reconstitute the UN, with France relegated to the position they deserve with their population and contributions to the reconstituted United Nations, then try again. The North Koreans have sensibly decided that multilateral instead of bilateral is okay. New Zealand led the revolution against weapons of mass destruction, despite intense pressure from the USA to adopt and harbour weapons of mass destruction as an excellent means of international confrontation. Now it seems to be catching on and King George II is even leading the charge against weapons of mass destruction, in one of life's rich ironies. Now we just have to get him thinking of how a reconstituted United Nations would make life a lot easier back at base and avoid the need to rule the world, which is a hazardous occupation. Most empires find world-ruling hard work and only megalomaniac dictators like Saddam, Hitler, Stalin, the odd Pharoah and Mongol horde leader think it'll be much fun in the long run. A brand spanking new reconstituted and democratic United Nations would be a real feather in King George II's cap. Not a megalomaniac UN ruling the world, but a limited-powers international deal which would do what is needed in terms of protecting the commons such as oceans, spectrum, space, Antarctica, air and rivers, protecting national borders and protecting human rights. I think King George II could go down in history as the best President the USA has ever had. But there's many a slip twixt the cup and lip. For example, it was quite a blunder to not protect a few important things like that looted museum. It would only have taken a couple of American soldiers to keep mobs at bay. The mobs have seen what can be called down in a hurry - they wouldn't be in a hurry to bust in. Onward, Mqurice
