Not everyone who goes on the chicken run stays away. We had neighbours for 2 years from Joburg, the wife got pregnant, the parents, grandparents to be were still in SA, they returned. Of course the tech bust did not help, they have been gone about 6 months now. They were both of Afrikaner stock but they got their immigration into Canada. In fact they returned before the child was born and before they were here long enough to take out Canadian citizenship. This I thought strange.
