I'm not sure people do. What is real, is hard to define. What you see here are people's thoughts in response to other people's thoughts- something that isn't a very "real" situation in 3d, where you get thoughts filtered moment by moment by people's careful reading of situation and body language. I think that explains the constant annoyances and spats among posters. They can't read people, because the people aren't here- only the ideas of people; they build up unreasonable expectations which they think are reasonable in their isolated sphere at their computer; and then they ritually fight over them. It's a very strange alternate universe, and though it exists and has it's own reality, I certainly wouldn't call it a "real" expression of a 3d person. It's one tiny dimension of a 3d person.
