Let me just reorder those items under any governments' perspectives: Deficit-> Revenue-> Debt-> Jobs-> Defict because revenues are getting smaller. This causes debt. That causes sovereign debts downgrades, That causes interest rates hike, which has affect in jobs. Look to the Maastrich agreement to see how Europe is captive of this cycle. Or to INMF dictated bail out of countries like S.E. Asia, LATAM etc. Your and mine problems are how can we keep our money out of the grabs of those guys trying to solve those problems? Noting that they can't print money 'com gusto' like the US can.
