I completely missed the Sarin story in connection with Arnett. I hadn't heard of it so I did check it out and posted a CNN retraction earlier today. Amazing that kind of reporter would have any credibility at all prior to the events during the war. Amazing that anyone would still be posting it as fact too.

Why is it that some people will always swallow a story when it is a big negative against the USA?

I think a lot of people believe anything that is in print or seen on TV. I don't think too many bother to check anything out. As for why the negative is latched on to where the US is concerned; Maybe it's because when you are on top, you make an excellent target. If we give, we are trying to take over. If we don't we are selfish greedy bastages. Sometimes you just can't win.

I think it is also worth mentioning that we harbor a multitude of political thinking in this country. Those in the minority are often the ones with the loudest voice or good for the most outrageous "news" clip. Other than that, I'm not sure why people prefer to believe the worst unless it gives them a boost to have a cause. Maybe it simply comes down to brain power or lack thereof <g>. Just my opinions of course ;o)

The two producers who developed the story for CNN were fired. Arnett stayed on untill his contract expired, which was not renewed. He blamed it on the producers.
