Look how the US economy was in Aug. 2001. Look to the troubles of Enron, WCOM. Look to NY almost bankrupt.

To make a case for patriotism fits nicely in the whole scheme of things. A hunge diversion from the real troubled state of the US economy.

Imagine if the Bsuh administration haven't had 911, with the following Afghanistan and then the Iraq war. Where would his administration would be?
