"it will take a long time, maybe never, to establish some kind of order in that country" You are a pessimist and an elitist imo to have such a negative view towards others progress. Seems like you are actually prejudiced against Arabs in thinking they have no ability to progress. In my view, if they start giving the people a chance (similar to the chances we are given in the U.S. with freedom, equality and education), the people's lives will improve. Continue to brainwash them with radical and intolerent religious views, and your assesment will will probably be correct. The other conclusion that can be drawn form your statement is that it appears that nothing should be tried because it will never be better. Such a negative a fatalistic view I wonder how people like you can even make it through life. "Will Iraq be like Afghanistan?" Afghanistan was a breeding ground for terrorists and a completely intolerent society. Now it is one step above that, and if they follow through with educating women and allowing reasonable freedoms the country will be IMMEASURABLEY BETTER in 10 or 20 years. I know that's a long time for you instant gratification types, but in the scheme of things it is not long at all. Your solution to leave it and Iraq as they were is a cop out that shows you don't give a rat's ass about anything other than yourself and your bank account.
