Syria does not have the natural resource endowment that Iraq has. Is this why Syria won't be invaded?

That is one of the reasons. And the word is liberate not invade.

Do you want to the US to liberate all of the evil regimes in the world or only the ones that meet the following:

1. The people of the country are oppressed by a tyrannical dictator that enjoys torture.

2. The common people of the country would be likely to welcome the Americans troops as liberators.

3. The country has great natural resources and is likely to prosper in the world's capitalist economy.

Syria's leading exports are cotton and asphalt.
