Searle, the workings of the human mind is a mystery. How is it possible a human being can commit unspeakable crimes, sometimes over and over again, yet go home and with great tenderness embrace his wife or child. Sometimes I think we should refer to ourselves as human beasts. Is it possible to instill and enforce rules and standards of behaviour, universal and inviolate or without exception? I am reminded of a biblical verse, the greatest commandment, to love one another. That's the simple answer, but it ain't gonna happen. And your last sentence, "Maybe next time.", seems a distinctly greater possibility then the former. Phil
