Rumor has it that Chris Matthews will be running for the Senate in Pennsylvania next year against Arlen Spector. Given the demographics of the state, he would probably make a formidable candidate.

Chris Matthews is excellent. MSNBC is a screwy network though. They're trying to appeal to the Fox right-wing crowd now.

It's all about ratings. FOX has them, because it caters to rightwing folk who want their news hardright and don't like the mainstream media. There is a good audience for that sort of perspective and FOX is doing an excellent job catering to them, even if it is sometimes thinly veiled propaganda for the Republican party. MSNBC wants ratings, they're 3rd amongst the cable news networks, and is trying to capture some of that rightwing audience. Good luck MSNBC. It's all about trust. The rightwing drones trust FOX to give them the news the way they want to hear it, while they probably think MSNBC is just a cover for the mainstream media that they perceive as liberal (as if the owner of MSNBC, General Electric, could be characterized as liberal?!?).
