World policy gets set in Washington

Not really. There is no world policy.

Are you complaining about how America makes its decisions, what those decisions are, or just that America is so powerful?

nothing can stand up to that overwhelming firepower

Mostly true but not a major factor in most cases. The US doesn't get to decide trade policy with Europe or pick which country the Olympics will be held in or set policy on abortion for China just because it is the most powerful country on Earth.

people, don't trust them one bit

Do you truest the leaders of Canada, France, Brazil, Russia or China any more? This sort of goes back to my earlier question about is it the power or the behavior that bothers you.

Tim

there comes along an administration that doesn't see dialogue and cooperation as obscene terms

I really miss hearing about rapes in the white house, midnite basketball and missing interns on the news. Ahhhhhhhhhhh, for the good old days
