Yes, I saw that. Interesting, but also interesting to note that there are still just a few very large conglomerates owning the primary broadcast news outlets in the U.S. now. So if more viewers go to cable...they are still getting their news from multinational corporations who have a vested interest in currying favor with the governments in whose countries they do business. Here's another chilling problem: essentially the A-P, the Associated Press is the only U.S. wire service still functioning with a relatively large staff. The A-P's old competitor, UPI is a shadow of its former self. (It's now owned by Sun Myung Moon's outfit) I am hoping we will see the 'net become a true news alternative, but the odds are very high, it too, will become just another profit center of multinationals.
