>>Securing the oil ministry while neglecting to secure the antiquities museum (in spite of urgent entreaties) will haunt us for a long time.<<

This from a guy who never wanted the Coalition in Baghdad to begin with, and at worst wants the Coalition out of Baghdad yesterday?

The 19-year-olds soldiers running aroung Baghdad rooting out pockets of resistance, were told to preserve the Iraqi treasure for the Iraqi people, but nobody told them that this included statues that one assumes the actual Iraqi people might have an interest in preserving themselves.

Let's see. They managed to only kill a thousand or so Iraqi civilians. Check.

They managed to not destroy much besides Baathist targets. Check.

They managed to keep almost all of the oil wells from being blown. Check.

They managed to keep the bridges and dams from being blown. Check.

They managed to keep schools, hospitals and mosques from being bombed. Check.

They're in the process of restoring food, water, medical care and electricity. Check.

They didn't rape, pillage or plunder. Check.

Unfortunately, some Iraqis stole property from other Iraqis. I say "bad things happen," you say "this horror and failure will haunt the coalition for eternity."

Good thing your opinions only matter on the Internet, because you're too high maintenance to survive in the real world.
