Steeliejim,

Ah, after dinner, how pleasant: batter fried fish, rice, salad and half a bottle of a very nice (and inexpensive) Aussie cabernet sauvignon.

When I said I thought the Pentagon would manage the information, I didn't mean (and don't for a minute think) they would plant the evidence. No need. What I would like to see is an Iraqi Commission to Investigate the Horrors of Baathist Rule, complete with multivolume report, video archives, and monument/museum.

How many soldiers do we need to administer this place until we can get elections? Will the country devolve into chaos, or will nation building work?

My bet is nation building will work, but maybe not quite the way we think. After all, democracy means freedom to choose how you are governed, and what policies you pursue. France and Germany (and, one supposes, Russia) are democracies.

KB, have you given up trading those HOME BOYS? I am about 1-2 days from entering a long term short again in HOV.

This may be the last pop in this group for a while .

Also MDC looks compelling.

I think going forward my 2 favorite groups to short up here is Financials, and Home boys. Retail to a lesser degree.

Take care boss

Steelheading was very good this year. Thanks for asking. Had some great trips on the Trinity, coastal rivers, and my home water the American River.

There are fresh steelhead still coming up the American River. It's made a great comeback after falling on hard times a number of years ago when flows were being managed strictly for benefit of Central Valley ag. Sudden flow fluctuations, dewatering of redds, stranding of juveniles, warm summertime water temps. There's a better balance now, and the fish have really responded.

Probably enough OT stuff for now. Wouldn't want to wear out my welcome. <g>
