Somoza, Suharto, Stroessner, Pinochet, Ferdinand Marcos, Shah Reza Pahlavi were they tried? No they weren't because they were protected by the US going around buying good behavior during the cold war.

Geopolitics is way beyond the shallow level of understanding of the average american.
