That's not surprising, once you consider the fact that the majority of Americans have been terrified into believing that Saddam was behind 9/11. If you believe that, you would probably also think Bush is a hero. Goebbels would be proud.

From the NYT for tomorrow: Americans See Clear Victory in Iraq, Poll Finds --- 73% approve of Bush's job performance

I haven't gotten to the Times yet this morning, so I haven't read this but if the text of the article supports this view, I would assume the Bush folk are worried. Those are low numbers just after as successful a military campaign as this one. Given the speed of the capitulation, the low number of casualties, the propensity of the American public to credit the sitting administration for military successes, my guess is that Karl Rove is burning some midnight oil, worrying about between now and Nov 04.
