wisdom from a former ruler of that region in turmoil

>>34 "But at the end of that period, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the (62) Most High and praised and honored (63) Him who lives forever;
For His dominion is an (64) everlasting dominion,
And His kingdom endures from generation to generation.

35
"(65) All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing,
But (66) He does according to His will in the host of heaven
And among the inhabitants of earth;
And (67) no one can ward off His hand
Or say to Him, '(68) What have You done?'
36 "At that time my (69) reason returned to me. And my majesty and (70) splendor were restored to me for the glory of my kingdom, and my counselors and my nobles began seeking me out; so I was reestablished in my sovereignty, and surpassing (71) greatness was added to me.
37 "Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt and honor the King of (72) heaven, for (73) all His works are true and His ways just, and He is able to humble those who (74) walk in pride."

However long the USA endures -- it is only by God's grace -- it is not because our nation is in any way "righteous" on the whole, but it is God who has mercy. I fear the worship of icons -- however noble they may seem.

State of the Union address:

President Touts Progress, Warns of Ongoing Danger

"Bush argues that "the world is changing for the better."

The lives of those lost during the tragedy of 9/11 will not be forgotten in vain.

The spirit of those who died will never be forgotten and
live on forever.

The family members will continue to be remembered in our
daily prayers.
