Re liberty: Some just don't appreciate that when they take away the rights of the "bad guys," everyone loses. All the people jailed now or made to plea bargain to lesser offenses for doing things that at the time were not illegal -- Some in the majority may say "it's only a few hundred arabs -- why should I care -- so what if they get a few innocents in their net." Problem is no-one gets to pick who or what they decide to prosecute ex post facto, next time -- or who they get to hold without due process. When fear is constantly being used as a tactic to get you to support something the government wants to do -- it's time to start questioning the why's and the wherefore's, IMO.
