I vote for the second option. The money managers are complacent. I think the MF levels are very bearish. They were at similar levels in the early seventies and shot up to extremely pessimistic levels of more than 11% for the 1974 bottom. Maybe we are in for a repeat. The May-October period would be ideal for such an outcome. Not arguing that this rally can last into May or June, though.
