You are making & taking this way too personal Jim.

BTW, my comment, ""The oil thingy is simply ludicrous on
its' face."........

MS Word thinks this is correct grammar. I think the
apostrophe was correctly placed. Perhaps it should have
been before the 's'. I can live with that.

I didn't realize that made me an illiterate. By those
standards, most folks on SI would be over qualified :-
"how do we label this next axis of France-Germany-Russia-China ???"

Good question. I don't think we should allow their dirty
deeds to go unpunished. What they did cost the lives of
Coalition troops. They violated UN resolutions they helped
pass. They violated international law. They were openly
deceitful on matters of global significance & international
diplomacy. They stabbed us in the back.

Should we simply let it pass so that the message is it's OK
to continue this abhorrent behavior? (is the apostrophe in
it's okey dokey?)

"this will develop into something ugly !!!
if our allies are not clearly aligned with us, why should we feel comfortable ?
something is deeply wrong, and I know what it is
you have so far missed it"

It very well may become a significant global problem. The
cost of freedom is always high. If our so called allies are
not with us, that is their problem. We should not change
our course because France, Germany & Russia have shown
their true colors. They have acted with the utmost disgrace.

And I certainly don't think I have missed "it".

Lawrence Eagleburger, who was US Secretary of State under George Bush Sr, told the BBC: "If George Bush [Jr] decided he was going to turn the troops loose on Syria and Iran after that he would last in office for about 15 minutes. In fact if President Bush were to try that now even I would think that he ought to be impeached. You can't get away with that sort of thing in this democracy."
Wanna bet?
