This is a democracy..........people can say what they please. And that means Bush's ability to do things is limited.

Of course they can. That doesn't mean it is a good idea to spill your guts on national TV. And while I expect this sort of thing from liberals, you really don't expect it from someone with Eagleburger's stature.

Did it ever dawn on you that Eagleburger has a better grasp of the big picture than you; that he has good reason for saying what he's saying? Given his background, he may well have insights that you couldn't possibly imagine.

I always listen more carefully when a member of the inner circle doesn't agree publicly.......it could mean the inner circle may be twisted in its thinking.

Bush has no plans to go into Syria, its reported that Rumsfeld is asking for war plans to invade Syria from the pentagon.

Well, I suspect the DOD technically has "plans" to invade every place from Cuba to Canada, given the right set of circumstances. But "plans" in the sense that we're thinking about doing it? I doubt it.

Excuse me, are you saying there are plans and then there are plans? I don't care if by plans Rumsfeld meant a Jack in the Box version of a tank. By asking for invasion plans, Rumsfeld is sending a message to Syria and its not to meet at the top of the hill for a makeout session.

So you've got Blair saying no more war; you've got the Navy sending only some of its fleet home; and you've got Rumsfeld asking for plans. And the message was?
